Global Woman Magazine is hosting one of the most celebrated women’s events of the year. On 25 March, 2017, an elegant gala dinner will be held to present an award for the ultimate “Global Woman of the Year”. The evening will be dedicated to inspiring global women who have achieved success through their leadership and innovation.
Present on the day will be a number of women who have served as role models in their communities and created a positive impact in the world in which they live and work. Amongst this year’s inspiring nominees is presenter and TV host Chrissy B.
Chrissy B is a joyful, gracious and thoughtful woman who has recovered from her battle with depression with her head held high, and she is now using her experiences to spread positivity and hope in the world. Chrissy B aims to share and spread happiness through her work – be it her writing, TV show or hosted events, her goal is to show people that they can always improve and grow regardless of their circumstances.
We had the privilege of interviewing Chrissy B to get an insight into what she does and how it feels to be nominated for the Global Woman of the Year award.
How does it feel to be nominated for the Global Woman of the Year award?
“It feels really humbling. I will never forget where it all started – with me having serious problems – but being able to turn all that around and now be in a position to share my story to inspire others is amazing.”
What would it mean to you if you won the award?
“It would feel great to win the award, as it would mean that I could reach more people with the message of hope and transformation.”
Would winning the award change the work that you do in any way?
“Possibly. Winning this award could certainly open new doors for me, doors that I do not know are there. It would probably mean that I would be able to reach a new audience. I am ready for anything.”
Has being nominated for this award brought about any changes?
“Being nominated for this award has made me excited at the possibility of reaching more people with my story, and I will continue as always, working hard to help others.”
What do you believe has been your strongest moment?
“The whole experience of having my own TV show has challenged me in so many different ways and on so many different levels, and I have had to adapt and grow and push myself completely out of my comfort zone. But the more experiences I have, the more I love to share them with the viewers and those who know me.”
As a woman, what is it about inspiring others that encourages you to do the work that you do?
“I came from a place where I did not have much self-worth, where I doubted myself, where I thought I was not good enough. I know that there are so many women and men who feel this way about themselves, and it is such a horrible place to be. Since I was able to get to a place where I began to value and believe in myself, it makes me so happy to be able to help others get there too. It is not something that I could ever keep to myself. It has become my passion.”
