Lord of who?

An employee obeys his boss because he doesn’t want to risk losing his job. After all, if he loses his job, he and his family may be destined to misery and hunger.

However, the fear of losing eternal life does not seem to bother most of those who claim to believe in Jesus as their LORD.

Maybe it’s because they think that God’s compassion will prevail over His justice during Judgment Day. This has made them relaxed in the faith. They forget that the compassion and love of God are inserted in His character of Righteousness. Otherwise, His Son would not have been sacrificed.

There is no point in believing in Him and His Word, but still, submit to the impulses of the corrupt heart or the voice of evil.

Precisely for this reason, without exaggeration, I say that most believers are oppressed. Their lips confess Jesus is their LORD. Yet they resist obeying His voice.

These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. Matthew 15.8-9

Jesus Christ is the Lord of the Heavens, the Earth and of all that is in the Universe. (Colossians 1.16)

However, when it comes to humanity, He is only the Lord of those who serve Him.

Be blessed in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
