The world is full of popular sayings and proverbs. Some are so religious that they directly contradict the Word of God, but are believed to be true.
Take a look at a few examples:
1 – “We are all God’s children.” true or false?
FALSE: look what the Word of God says:
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1.12-13
2 – “All paths lead to God.” true or false?
FALSE: look what the Word of God says:
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14.6
3 – “Where the name of God is, there He will be present”: true or false?
FALSE: look what the Word of God says:
For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them. Matthew 18.20
4 – “Little is much when God is in it.” true or false?
FALSE: look what the Word of God says:
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10.10
5 – “God may tardy, but He does not fail.” true or false?
FALSE: look what the Word of God says:
The Lord does not delay His promise, as some understand delay… 2 Peter 3.9 HCSB
In light of the above, we see that, unfortunately, people live under a blanket of lies that are always reinforced by many emotions.
However, this does not apply to us because we do not live in a religious or emotional way, but by intelligent faith.
