Burden: ‘a load, typically a heavy one’ and we all know that carrying anything weighty is extremely strenuous. How many of us have carried something heavy and then felt the load take its toll on our body afterwards? The same could also be said for the burdens we carry in our mind and heart – the impact of these are also draining.
Is your love life full of heartbreaks, are you in debt, is there a health problem that keeps on persisting in your life? Has a problem or situation taken its toll on you, are you feeling burdened?
We invite you to take on this proposition: “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:29-30). The burden of Jesus is as light as a feather, come and exchange yours with His.
Separate the next seven Fridays to join the ‘Seven Fridays to exchange your burden’ chain of prayer—a series of prayer meetings made without interruption focused on resolving a specific problem. This chain of prayer will instil in you the determination to overcome all those things that are burdening you.
