Emotional faith: a weapon without ammunition

We know faith is the greatest weapon a Christian has against the devil and the problems this world presents, but many people have been deceived by an emotional faith.

What’s the use of having a heavy caliber weapon with an astronomical potential to destroy if it has no ammunition? When we need it in the war against our enemies, we will be surprised and defeated.

The same happens with emotional faith, it appears to have a high power of destruction against the devil, but when the time comes, it fails because it has no ammunition. And what is this ammunition that emotional faith lacks?

Obedience to the Word of God, the sacrifice required by this obedience, doing the Will of God, denying our will, when waking up or going to sleep, at lunch and dinner, this is, day after day, everywhere – at home, work, church – when we are near or far from the eyes of our spiritual leaders, pastors, bishops, etc.

Our Lord Jesus taught us the secret of His success while He was here on earth living in a human body. He left the example of an intelligent and rational faith when He said:

…My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. John 4.34

First– “DO THE WILL OF HIM WHO SENT ME”

Powerful ammunition with the power to destroy the devil, the flesh and problems. This is something emotional faith cannot do.

Second– “AND TO FINISH HIS WORK”

Press the trigger and fire at the devil and the injustices that rise against us every day. This is something that those who have an emotional faith do, thinking that it is enough to please God. Pure deception.

Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done wonders in Your name? And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matthew 7.22-23

Only with this powerful weapon called conscious and intelligent faith, will we, not only have success in our life in this world, but especially when we need it most, this is, when we die, because we will say the same as the apostle Paul:

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day… 2 Timothy 4.7
