Have you heard about the famous tree, found in the Amazon, called Samauma? It is commonly known in South America as the “mother” or “queen” of the forest.
This fame is due to the fact that in winter, it stores water in itself so that in the summer it can remain alive and provide water for the other trees around it. This way, the flora around it doesn’t die.
You can almost say this tree generates and sustains life!
The same happens with the children of God through the Holy Spirit. The Lord Jesus compares those who are His to this tree that gives life to those around them (John 7:38-39).
It’s through the fruit of a person’s character, behaviour and life that we know whether or not they have received the presence of God within them, becoming His children:
“For a good tree does not bare bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.” (Luke 6:43 NKJV)
In the book of Galatians, the author describes the characteristics of a person who has received this Divine nature. This passage, when read with a sincere and open heart, serves as a mirror to reveal to us our true inner state.
That’s why we will be commencing a new Bible study in all our Universal Churches, ‘The Fruit of the Holy Spirit’. It will be an opportunity for self-analysis, reflection and to learn valuable teachings from the Bible regarding the nature of God.
This study will take place every Wednesday, simply bring your Bible to your nearest Universal Church at 7:30pm or any of the services during the day.
