Meditate on this…
Her priests have violated My law and profaned My holy things; they have not distinguished between the holy and unholy… Ezekiel 22.26
They have violated My law:they misuse the Word of God by using It to do their own will, just like Satan did in the wilderness when tempting our Lord Jesus.
They profaned My holy things:they disrespect what is holy, such as church meetings, the members and the offering, which is the blood of the people that covers the cost of the pastor’s sustenance.
They have not distinguished between the holy and unholy:Our body is holy. Our health is holy. Our time is holy. Our marriage is holy. Our service to the Lord is holy. Our home is holy. The Work is holy. When you are careless with your body, you are profaning what is holy. The same applies to our health when we do not invest in it or take care of ourselves. The time we spend with certain habits and hobbies. The carelessness with our home. When you do not have zeal with the Work of God and care more about your friendships or popularity among other pastors.
He finishes the chapter with the consequences that will come upon these “priests”:
“Therefore I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds on their own heads,” says the Lord GOD. Ezekiel 22.31
Let’s also fear what is holy.
