There is something you need to know for 2021

Humanity is experiencing a unique moment in history. What can we expect from the upcoming years?

Therefore you shall keep every commandment which I command you today, that you may be strong, and go in and possess the land which you cross over to possess.” (Deuteronomy 11:8)

2021 has arrived, bringing with it new perspectives, plans and goals to be achieved. However, many unfortunately entered the new year with the scars of divorce, illnesses, deceased loved ones and even carrying suicidal thoughts within them.

Divorces

Although the Office of National Statistics (ONS) has not yet released the 2020 divorce rates, they stated that divorces in England and Wales have seen the highest percentage increase in 50 years. According to the charity Citizens Advice, there was a rise in divorce guidance searches from April 2020, and in September 2020, views on their divorce webpage increased 25% compared to September 2019.

Unfortunately, there is currently a considerable number of marriages going through a crisis that will choose to divorce, even before trying other ways to save their marriage. Many invest their energy in an exhausting divorce process, when they could – and should – concentrate and strive to resolve their conflicts and disagreements together as a couple.

Diseases

In addition to that, some people started the year with the diagnosis of a disease in their bodies. It is also worth remembering that COVID-19 is still an ongoing topic in medicine. According to government data from 28 December 2020, over 2.7 million people were infected by COVID-19 in the UK alone.

Suicide

The reality is even sadder according to the following statistic: did you know that every 40 seconds a person commits suicide in the world? And if we count annually, around 800,000 people put an end to their lives.

This data is from the World Health Organization (WHO), which also reveals that the suicide rate among men is higher than among women. All of these people commit suicide because at some point in their lives, they believed that it was the only way to solve their problems.

New year, new thoughts, new life

But which way is the right way to go? What should we do to leave the past in 2020 and truly enter a new year with a new life?

We are entering the second year of the ‘Decade of Strength’, and only the strong will be able to overcome what lies ahead; when we look at 2020, we see that it was a year full of tragedies, the year of a pandemic. Terrible things are happening and it’s getting worse every year, people need to have the Holy Spirit to be able to face and overcome these adversities.

A year ago, when God gave us the vision that this would be the “Decade of Strength”, it was not a coincidence. It was not a catchphrase, a slogan for the Universal Church. It was a prophecy. We didn’t know what was coming, but God already knew, and He made us understand that we would need strength (not for a year but for a decade).

One of the seven manifestations of the Spirit of God is strength. So, if you don’t have the fullness of the Holy Spirit, you will not be able to resist. Jesus said that the last days would be difficult and that if He did not shorten those times, no one would be saved, not even the chosen ones (see Matthew 24:22). In the book of Joel chapter two, it was also prophesied for the end of time, that God would pour out His Spirit on all flesh. Why is He going to do that in the last days? It is because, without the Holy Spirit, no one will endure.

With this in mind, we invite you to take part in the special purpose “The 7 Manifestations of the Spirit of God” through our online services at 10am and 7:30pm on Wednesdays and at 10am on Sunday.
